NIV Isaiah 53:8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
Today’s is a late entry. The day is almost over. It has been a hard day. It has been an emotional day. I grieve when the members of my spiritual family grieve. Today there is sorrow.
We live in the valley of the shadow of death. Death comes and takes those who are apart from God. Those who are of the family of faith leave this life and travel to the Kingdom that is to come and already is.
“A Kingdom to come and already is”, is the a paradoxical statement?
No, it is the reality for those who have Jesus with them and in them (another seeming paradox that is not one).
The image of death still is hard even for those of the family of faith. We know we will see our loved ones but we must wait. Jesus waited almost 800 years for verse (prophecy) to come to pass. Yet he came to Abraham in his resurrected state.
God does amazing things. This is our hope in the face of sorrow.
